Beware A Hacked Heart on Valentine’s Day

Almost 8 years ago, one of the most significant early e-mail attacks began in the form of the ILOVEYOU worm. It was a path-breaking attack, using some simple social engineering to get users to run the attached script in an era when few had security software that could protect against it.

Every year since, come Valentine’s Day, we have to be on the lookout for similar love-themed attack messages. This year, as with all other attacks, the Storm Worm seems to be out front. The attack coming from Storm’s vast zombie network has a link in it back to a zombie on the network that serves the malware. Click on the link and you are brought to a page that looks like this:
